The Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in northern Kenya is home to the annual Lewa Safari Marathon, organised by Tusk and Lewa. Each year participants share the reserve with iconic African wildlife including the Big Five.
The event is a true festival of running featuring the full marathon, half-marathon, 10k and children’s race. Set on the conservancy’s dirt roads, all distances take runners across sweeping savannah plains, along river banks and through acacia woodland.
The Lewa Safari Marathon festival of running is not just a personal challenge, the unique event supports conservation projects across Kenya and every single participant plays a huge role in helping local communities and raising awareness of the threats facing Africa’s incredible wildlife.
